Have a piece of music written for your wedding or as a gift for a couples big day,
a birthday, anniversary, the opening of a new building, a retirement, or any other special occasion. You choose the title of the tune and there are lots of options from having the tune written down, framed and recorded to having it performed at your event.
I love composing tunes and something I enjoy most about being commissioned to write music is making it as personal as possible to each person and occasion that it is for! Listen to some examples of previous commissioned compositions below.

Here are a few examples of tunes I have been asked to compose:

I was commissioned to compose this tune as a gift for Alison Carlyle who stepped down as chair of the Scots Music Group board after 10 years.
Alison is a great step dancer and she was presented this tune and had it played for her by all the tutors on her last night. She instantly got up and step danced along. Scots Music Group is a fantastic organisation who run music classes for adults in Edinburgh |

'The Bird Man of Chambers Street'
Bob McGowan is the curator of the Bird Collection at the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street, Edinburgh and a keen fiddler who enjoys playing strathspeys. His family commissioned me to compose this tune for his birthday. |
Composed for a wedding and I was also booked to play this piece as the bride to walk down to aisle. Camasunary is a bay on Skye that the couple enjoy visiting.

This tune was composed for a gift to a fiddle player for his 18th Birthday

What kind of tune would you like? If you wish to have a particular type of tune (a waltz, jig, march etc) this can be catered for, but it's also no problem if you are unsure of how to explain in musical terms what you would like but can describe your tune commission as something slow / happy etc. Or if you would prefer for me to decide on the tune type this is also fine. Sometimes tunes are for certain uses, for example being played as a bride walks down the aisle and this means that the tune needs to be at the right speed that she can walk to it. Another idea is a dance tune for a ceilidh.
