There are now over 160 tune learning videos to learn from on my Patreon 'Tune Tuesday with Eilidh Steel' and I add a new video on the first Tuesday of each month.
Tune Tuesday is best suited to fiddlers/violinists who are able to play some tunes and feel open to learning by ear. My aim is to help you build your repertoire of Scottish music and to gain confidence in learning by ear. You can watch the videos at a time that suits you and when learning a tune you can watch the videos as many times as you want or stop and repeat a bit if you feel you need more time on a particular part of the tune.
Although this is principally aimed at fiddlers it would also suit mandolin players too as it’s the same fingering and other tune players are welcome to join but you'd just need to ignore the fingerings I mention during the videos as these may not be applicable to your instrument.
The tunes are taught phrase by phrase and the camera focuses on my left hand so that you can use my fingers as a guide when learning the tunes. The sheet music is always given as well as the background information on the tunes and composers.
You will also receive an invitation to a private online group, a community just for subscribers where you can chat and encourage each other, ask questions and share how you are getting on.
I hope these videos will give you inspiration, motivation and enjoyment of playing Scottish music!
